7.0 Tesla Pre-Clinical MRI

The 7.0 Tesla pre-Clinical MRI System is equipped with a 12 cm usable bore size. It is a multi-purpose research system for high-resolution magnetic resonance spectroscopy and 2D or 3D imaging.

The system features several linear and circularly polarized radiofrequency resonators for imaging of mice, rats including: 72/86 mm (Tx/Rx), Mouse/Rat Brain Rx coils, In-House micro-imaging/pathology insert coils, 35mm Tx/Rx quadrature specimen coil, 15mm Tx/Rx specimen coil, 30mm/20mm/10mm planar ring Rx coils. It also includes double-tuned 1H/31P and 1H/13C coils for spectroscopy as well as a 1H/23Na 40 mm Tx/Rx volume coil for imaging.

In addition, we have designed several high-sensitivity radiofrequency resonators for this system in-house, including one that is incorporated into a home-built magnetic resonance microscopy insert. The system supports parallel imaging. Real-time animal respiratory monitoring system and a circulating water bed warming system is also included.
